Guttmann - La Sagrera

The project “Guttmann-La Sagrera” proposes the creation, in the heart of the La Sagrera neighborhood of Barcelona, and on the grounds where the former hospital of the Guttmann Institute was located, of a healthcare and social complex, aimed at providing specialized services for people with a spinal cord injury, acquired brain damage or other neurological disability.

The equipment complex consists of:

Protected apartments (Residential Units for Autonomous Life- URVAs), with common services and home automation solutions “ad hoc”, designed for people with physical disabilities, aimed at facilitating personal autonomy, quality of life and equal opportunities.

A Polyclinic specialized in Neurorehabilitation with spaces for consultations, rooms for diagnostic and treatment techniques and a large area for a gym for adults and another for children, with an accessible therapeutic pool. The Policlínica will incorporate different clinics, technologies and innovative procedures in the field of neurorehabilitation and neurosciences in general oriented to the treatment, maintenance and functional improvement and the quality of life of people with sequelae due to affectation of the central nervous system.

Complementary services (restaurant, cafeteria, kiosk…) for the users and relatives of the users of the apartments and the polyclinic, for the professionals who work in the complex and open to the public of the neighborhood.
